Passing the Britishness test

Last night, as I was making my way through a crowded room, someone accidentally elbowed me in the stomach (not hard).

I said “Sorry”.

I can relate to that very well. I almost always apologise in such situations, often feeling a bit stupid about doing so afterwards. But I can't help myself.

I am German. With some "Britishness" it seems.

Ah, I was told that was a Canadian trait!

"You apologize too much, that means you're weak!" Have you heard that yet? It's charming.

And no, I'm not Canadian. I can fake it though.
