The Pope dislikes Islam? Who would have thunk it?
The rush by Vatican press officers and various religious figures in the papers to assure people that the head of the Catholic church doesn't have a problem with Islam borders on the surreal for me.
Mind you - have you read the entire speech? Christianity is better than other religions, because it's more rational!?! Although reason - apparently - needs to be freed from the shackles of empirical evidence.
Personally, I'm offended by such remarks. Where's my pressure group?

What gets me is the implication that moral guidance can only come from religion:
"While we rejoice in the new possibilities open to humanity, we also see the dangers arising from these possibilities and we must ask ourselves how we can overcome them. We will succeed in doing so only if reason and faith come together in a new way"
